Waiver

Participation Waiver and Release of Liability

As the parent or legal guardian of the minor child(ren) listed below (“Child”), I acknowledge that I have voluntarily enrolled my Child in a nature-based educational program (the “Program”) operated by Katja Gruenheidt.

I understand and agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Acknowledgment of Risk

I understand that the Program includes group outdoor activities which may involve inherent risks and hazards, including but not limited to:

Uneven or rough terrain, mud, rocks, hills, and water bodies (streams, ponds, etc.)
Exposure to insects, ticks, bees, animals, and plants (including potentially harmful species)
Unpredictable weather conditions including rain, wind, cold, and sun exposure
Minor physical exertion including walking, climbing, jumping, running, and digging
Use of simple tools or natural materials (e.g., sticks, stones, leaves)

I understand that injuries can occur, ranging from minor cuts and bruises to more serious injuries, illness, or even in rare cases, death.

2. Medical Authorization

In the event of illness or injury to my Child while participating in the Program, I authorize the Program staff to:

Provide appropriate first aid,
Seek emergency medical treatment if necessary, and
Transport (or arrange for transportation of) my Child to a medical facility.

I agree to be responsible for any and all medical expenses incurred.

3. Release and Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Program, its owners, directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to my Child’s participation in the Program.

This includes, but is not limited to, claims for:

Personal injury, illness, death, or property damage or
Any other claim, including but not limited to claims arising out of negligence, or
Any act or omission by any third party.

4. Photographic Release

I grant permission for the Program to take photographs or videos of my Child during Program activities for educational, documentation, and promotional purposes without any compensation to me or Participant. I understand that my Child’s image may appear on the Program’s website, brochures, or social media unless I submit a written request opting out.
